Grid Assembly & Tolerances
Physical joining of 24-inch aluminum grid tiles.
Mechanical Linking
The grid base consists of 24" x 24" interlocking tiles. These are machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, anodized flat black, and embedded with a rigid FR4 PCB that carries the 24V power and CAN data planes.
| Tolerance Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Surface Flatness | +/- 0.005" per tile |
| Joint Gap | < 0.5mm |
| Locking Mechanism | Cam-lock quarter-turn fasteners |
Common Mistake: Failing to engage the cam-locks fully will result in intermittent CAN data drops across the joint bridge. Always ensure the physical locking pin is flush before applying power to the array.
Learn how power drops across these joints in the Power Distribution Guide.
