Siemens Capital Integration

Exporting wiring data directly from Siemens Capital to SmartWireBoard.

The Capital Workflow

Siemens Capital is the industry standard for aerospace harness design. Getting data out of Capital and into the physical prototyping phase usually involves printing massive 2D formboards.

SmartWireBoard integrates via Capital's standard XML export functionality.

  1. In Capital HarnessXC, select File > Export > XML.
  2. Select the "Physical Harness Data" preset.
  3. Upload the generated XML to the SmartWireBoard local controller via the web interface.

The controller runs a Python daemon that extracts the <Wire>, <Component>, and <Cavity> tags and builds a flat routing table.

FAQ: Does it support splice logic? Yes. Capital defines splices as virtual components. The SmartWireBoard controller maps splices to physical Splice Nodes, allowing multi-point continuity checks.
