Smart Node Deployment Strategy
Best practices for physical placement of logic nodes on the grid base.
The Physics of Placement
Unlike standard nails, Smart Nodes have a physical footprint of 1.25" x 1.25". When mapping a 1:1 scale harness, engineers must account for this displacement at extreme branch points.
Common Mistakes:
- Clustering at Terminals: Placing 10 nodes within a 4-inch radius for a D-Sub connector breakout will cause physical interference. Use a multi-pin breakout node instead of singular logic nodes.
- Magnetic Polarity Conflicts: Node bases use N52 neodymium magnets. Ensure a minimum spacing of 0.5 inches between adjacent nodes to prevent shear-locking.
Rule of Thumb: For main trunk lines, deploy a support node every 18 inches to prevent sag and ensure the harness remains flat against the grid base.
